Website ranks the 10 most miserable cities in Oklahoma

Apparently not everyone agrees with Galen Culver’s signature phrase, “is this a great state or what?”

The website Roadsnacks used five years worth of Census data to determine which places in Oklahoma are the unhappiest of all.

The website used  data for the 102 places in Oklahoma with over 2,000 people. They also factored in the following criteria:

  • Average commute times
  • Cost of living
  • Percent of married couples
  • Percent of home owners
  • Percentage of residents with a college degree
  • Poverty rate
  • Unemployment rates

After analyzing the data, the website was able to determine what the top 10 most miserable cities in the state:

1 – Holdenville
2 – Tahlequah
3 – Wagoner
4 – Anadarko
5 – Hugo
6 – Okmulgee
7 – Bristow
8 – Atoka
9 – Durant
10 – Idabel
