GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – A landlord in Colorado is receiving some hateful phone calls and emails because of an advertisement he recently placed.

Mark Holmes says he was seeking a renter for his two-bedroom apartment, and had one big requirement.

“DOWNTOWN APARTMENT, 2 bedrooms, furnished or use your things, organic garden space, hot tub, great back yard, dogs allowed if they have references as good as yours. If voting for Donald Trump, do not call!” the ad read.

“I consider my house kind of a sanctuary, where I can relax and unwind, and I wouldn’t feel that way if there was a Trump person down there,” Holmes told KKCO.

Experts say it is legal, but that hasn’t stopped hundreds of people from calling.

Some callers have even threatened Holmes’ life.

“I think you are a disgrace,” one voicemail said.

However, not all the calls are bad. In fact, several people have stopped by to show their support.

He says he is a little worried about his safety but stands by his decision.
