SPENCER, Okla. - A man is recovering after being shot while riding a horse late Thursday night.

Police say a couple of people were riding their horses near The Glory Bound Church, near N.E. 41st St. and Stella, when someone inside a passing car shot at them.

Officers say one man and one of the horses were hit by the bullets.

Fortunately, the victim was able to make it to a relative's home to call for help.

Emergency crews say the man's injuries are non-life threatening.

Oklahoma City police officers say the horse fell over when it was hit, but it got back up and officers were able to walk it back home.

At this point, there's no word on the extent of the horse's injuries.

Investigators say they found six shell casings in the street, but do not have any information on a suspect.
