Buddy Hield Baller SI

Oklahoma senior guard Buddy Hield had several more honors come in on Tuesday, March 29, including his second appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated in the last three weeks.

Hield is on SI with a picture of him shooting over an Oregon defender in the West Regional Final in Anaheim last weekend.

The headline reads:  Buddy Hield:  Baller;  The Experience Rolls Into the Final Four

Hield was also named to another All-America team, named a first team All-American by the Associated Press.

He was a unanimous selection by the AP voters.

Hield was also named the CBS Sports national player of the year on Tuesday, but did not win that honor from the National Association of Basketball Coaches, who voted Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine as its player of the year.

Hield and the Sooners will play Villanova in the national semifinals at the Final Four in Houston on Saturday at 5:09 central time.

He’s the first player to average more than 25 points a game to advance to the Final Four since Dennis Scott in 1990.
