COLUMBIA, S.C. – Three young women have been arrested and charged after allegedly attacking a woman along the Saluda River.

The violent beating was captured on cell phone video.

“One’s kicking her, and she’s completely helpless. It’s just really hard to watch,” Ramy Williams, a friend of the victim, told WIS. “The other one was just wailing on her face, wailing on her head, you know, on the back of her head. It definitely could have killed her.”

Police say the victim was lounging on the riverbank with a coworker when a mob of girls attacked her.

The victim suffered a concussion, a broken nose and two black eyes.

Authorities arrested 18-year-old Arlinda Craft, 19-year-old Anns Leigh Hill and 20-year-old Megan Williams for second-degree assault and battery by a mob.

Investigators say the attack was unprovoked, but the victim knows the suspects.
