LAS VEGAS, Nevada – As country music fans continue to pay tribute to a legend, one Oklahoma country star is also in the headlines.

Toby Keith, an Oklahoma native known for his popular songs like ‘Red Solo Cup’ and ‘How Do You Like Me Now?,’ was able to join Merle Haggard on stage during one of his last performances.

On Feb. 6, Haggard was scheduled to perform at Mandalay Bay Ballroom just weeks after being hospitalized for double pneumonia.

Despite his health concerns, Haggard took the stage and performed some of his classic country tunes for the crowd.

Toby Keith also joined Haggard on stage for about 30 minutes, performing some of the legend’s most popular songs.

On Wednesday, word spread that Haggard had passed away at the age of 79.

Several country music artists, including Keith, paid tribute to the legend.
