OKLAHOMA CITY - Firefighters were busy battling an apartment fire overnight in northwest Oklahoma City.

Around 11:50 p.m., firefighters responded to an apartment complex in the 3600 block of N.W. 42nd St.

When crews arrived, they saw heave smoke coming from the roof.

Heavy flames were reported from floor to roof of two of the apartments, fire officials say.

Approximately 30 occupants were evacuated from 18 units.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

Fire investigators believe the fire started in the kitchen of one of the units where one of the occupants was cooking.

Damage estimates were reported to be $75,000 for the structure and $50,000 for contents.
