Former Putnam City West basketball standout Tyson Jolly committed to play for Baylor University next season.

Jolly overcame seven blood clots in his lungs during his junior high school season to eventually earn a full scholarship to play basketball at the University of California near the end of his senior season at West.

Jolly then spent last year at Elev-8 Prep in Florida trying to gain an extra credit to get into Cal.

The four star recruit was then given a release from his scholarship with the Golden Bears after changing his mind about attending school in Berkeley.

Tyson was planning on taking a trip to visit OSU, but told KFOR sports that he will not make the trip to Stillwater after committing to the Bears.
