CACHE, Okla. – OSBI is investigating an incident that happened in Comanche County that left one man dead.

Just before midnight, the Comanche County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a suicidal subject.

When police arrived on scene, they found 52-year-old David Swatsky in his bedroom with a gun, and threatening to shoot officers.  Police eventually were able to talk Swatsky out of his room, but he refused to put down his gun.

After a brief standoff, a  deputy fired his gun one time when Swatsky made a move toward him.

Swatsky stopped breathing on the scene and officers and EMT’s worked to revive him.  He was eventually pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

The sheriff’s office immediately called the OSBI to investigate the incident and to write up a report for the district attorney.  The DA will then decide if the shooting was justified.

The officer involved will not be identified unless arrested.
