Report ranks top high schools in the nation, Oklahoma

Edmond North High School

OKLAHOMA CITY – As schools continue to try and make ends meet amid a budget crisis, some Oklahoma high schools are being recognized nationally.

U.S. News & World Report recently released its list of the best high schools across the country and in each state.

Researchers looked into 28,561 high schools across the country, and 29 Oklahoma schools made the U.S. News & World Report’s list of the best high schools in the country.

The top Oklahoma high schools are as follows:

  1. Edmond North High School
  2. Edmond Memorial High School
  3. Norman High School
  4. Jenks High School
  5. Will Rogers College High School
  6. Bartlesville High School
  7. Owasso High School
  8. Westmoore High School
  9. Eisenhower High School
  10. Stillwater High School

Edmond North High School was ranked 872nd on the national list. Researchers say the school’s ‘college readiness’ level is set at 45.7, meaning that 59 percent of students took an AP exam and 41 percent passed.

Researchers say they looked at students’ reading and math results, math and reading proficiency rates for disadvantaged students, graduation rates and college-readiness using AP test data.
