OKLAHOMA CITY - A motorcyclist is in critical condition after leading police on a high-speed chase through Oklahoma City.

Late Wednesday night, officers tried to pull the suspect over near I-44 and N.W. 10th Street after the motorcycle was spotted speeding and weaving through traffic.

However, the suspect refused to pull over and a chase ensued.

At one point, officers called the pursuit off because of unsafe speeds, which reached over 100 miles per hour.

Right after they called off the chase, the suspect crashed into a cable barrier near I-44 and Broadway Extension.

The driver was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

After the crash, officers say they found a backpack with drugs inside.

Police believe the drugs may be the reason why the motorcyclist fled from officials.
