LAWTON, Okla.-- Dozens of cars were left underwater at Central Mall in Lawton following Sunday night storms.

“I was crying because that’s my family vehicle. I’m a mother of seven and that’s my family vehicle,” Lawton resident Charla Kiles said. “I was at work because I work at the Payless inside, and when I came out my truck was completely under the water."

Witnesses say some cars were floating, while others didn’t leave the ground but were filled with water.

“I saw water halfway up the car, cars everywhere, trucks trying to pull the trucks out,” Lawton resident Mitchell Jones said.

Mall officials say there were no injuries but there is some minor damage to parts of the inside and exterior of the building.

Mall goers we spoke with say while they may be without a car for the time being, at least no one was hurt.
