Police: Men admit to setting fire to Tishomingo church, middle school because they were “bored”

TISHOMINGO, Okla. – Two people were taken into custody after allegedly setting a couple of buildings on fire in Tishomingo.

According to KTEN, firefighters were called to Tishomingo’s Middle School after a fire broke out in the school’s music room.

The choir room has been declared a total loss, according to KXII.

A short time later, they were called to the First Baptist Church on a blaze there.

Fortunately, no one was injured but investigators say the fires were intentionally set.

KTEN reports that two people were taken into custody.

Police say the alleged suspects told them they set the fires because they were “bored.”

Authorities arrested 19-year-old Jared Diggs and 20-year-old Tyler Hammond for arson.
