Serious car crash in S.W. Oklahoma City leaves one dead, one hospitalized

Serious car crash near SW 18th and Council

OKLAHOMA CITY – Emergency crews were on scene of a very serious car crash involving multiple vehicles in southwest Oklahoma City Monday morning.

Around 7 a.m., a SUV collided with a bobtail semi-truck carrying 1000 gallons of methanol near S.W. 18th and Council.

Officials say one person was killed in the crash after being ejected from the SUV.

The man killed in the crash has been identified as 32-year-old Stacey James Owen.

The driver of the bobtail truck was transported to the hospital.  His condition is unknown at this time.

Hazmat crews were called to the scene due to leaking fuel.

Authorities are investigating the crash.
