WACO, Texas – A mother is recovering after she and her infant son were thrown from a Texas overpass.

Jennifer Duncan was involved in a car accident along I-35 in Waco.

Duncan and her 8-month-old son were standing on the shoulder when a bystander pulled over to shield them from oncoming traffic.

However, a car crashed into the bystander’s car, sending the infant and Duncan over the side of the bridge.

The pair fell 30 feet to the ground below.

Amazingly, the 8-month-old only suffered a scratch because Duncan wrapped herself around him, taking the full force of the fall.

“I just remember praying, ‘God, please don’t let my baby die.’ It was the scariest thing you can possibly imagine. I’m just thankful my son is still alive,” Duncan told KXXV.

Duncan suffered a shattered pelvis, internal injuries and her leg was severed below the knee.

While she has a long road ahead of her, friends and family members have set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for medical bills.
