ELK CITY, Okla. – It’s not uncommon to find country music fans in Oklahoma, but one fan’s sweet plea is going viral.

Officials at the Elk City Nursing Home contacted NewsChannel 4 after one resident invited country music star Blake Shelton to visit her.

Joyce is 89-years-old and is a big fan of Blake Shelton.

Staff at the nursing home say Joyce decided that Shelton was supposed to visit the residents this week. When staff members and family told Joyce that he wasn’t coming, she decided to invite him.

“We are all No. 1 Blake Shelton fans and we’ve got pictures all over to prove it to you,” Joyce says, holding up a picture of Shelton that is on her nightstand. “Please come and visit us here. We don’t get too many visitors but we have chose to make you No. 1 visitor. Please come.”

Her plea was posted to Facebook and Twitter and has since been viewed over 176,000 times.

One of those views was from Blake Shelton.
