OKLAHOMA CITY - On Friday, many Oklahomans were counting down the minutes until the start of Memorial Day weekend.
Families will be heading to local lakes and state parks to enjoy the great outdoors.
However, there are other options if you're looking for just an afternoon activity.
The Chuck Wagon Gathering and Children's Cowboy Festival is being held Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
Kids can get dressed in their boots and hat to ride a stagecoach or pony, try fruit cobbler cooked over the fire and listen to western music.
Also, the Oklahoma River Run and Dog Jog is on Monday at Wiley Post Park. The river run begins at 8 a.m. and the dog jog is at 9 a.m.
Don't forget the Paseo Arts Festival is running all weekend long.
It begins Saturday at 10 a.m. and continues through Monday with dozens of local artist booths, three music stages and great activities for the kids.
You can learn more about these and other attractions at 6:30 p.m. Saturdays on 'Discover Oklahoma.'
