Man arrested in connection to fatal Logan County shooting

LOGAN COUNTY, Okla. – An Oklahoma man was arrested in connection to a fatal shooting on Highway 33.

On May 30th, authorities say J.J. Pennington was shot in the chest by Christopher Sheldon on Highway 33, just east of Post Road.

Deputies were called to the scene after receiving reports of a fight, but found Pennington fatally shot when they arrived.

Witnesses say a man and a woman fled the scene in an older red Chevrolet step side pickup.

On June 2nd, Stacey Kennedy turned herself in and gave authorities details about the shooting.

She was arrested for an unrelated arrest warrant out of Payne County.

Officers later went to a home in Ingalls, Oklahoma where Sheldon was arrested.

He was booked into the Logan County Jail for manslaughter in the first degree.
