DETROIT, Mich. – Detectives were stunned when they learned the details behind an abduction and kidnapping of a 13-year-old boy.
On Tuesday, police began searching for 13-year-old Deontae Mitchell after his cousin said someone was after him.
Two days later, investigators found Mitchell’s body in a field, according to WXYZ.
Authorities learned that Mitchell and his cousin were riding their bikes when 45-year-old Gregory Walker began chasing them.
Mitchell’s cousin was able to get away, but surveillance cameras were rolling as Walker allegedly grabbed Mitchell and threw him into his car.
Investigators learned that Walker had dropped $75 outside a Detroit store earlier in the evening and believed the boys had found it.
Police allege that Walker demanded his money back, but Mitchell told him that he didn’t have any money.
Walker was arrested for the murder and officers are now searching for two other suspects.
