Shay Knighten’s Walk-Off Homer Sends Sooners Past Crimson Tide

Shay Knighten hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the 8th inning to give Oklahoma a 3-0 win over Alabama in the first round of the Women’s College World Series on Friday, June 3, at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

Knighten was the hero for the second time this year against the Crimson Tide.

She hit a walk-off home run against Alabama during the regular season as well.

OU pitcher Paige Parker struck out seven in shutting out Alabama.

Oklahoma has won 28 straight games, one shy of the school record.

The Sooners advanced to play in the winners’ bracket at about 8:30 on Saturday night against Michigan.
