OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities are asking for the public’s help finding a man accused of stealing a car from a homeowner’s garage.

On June 13, officers were called to the Avalon Woods neighborhood after a man said that his Jeep had been stolen in the middle of the night.

According to the police report, the victim said that he forgot to close his garage and the neighborhood’s gate stayed open that night.

The victim’s surveillance cameras captured a white van with either a silver or dark stripe down the sides drive past the victim’s home and then turn around.

At that point, a white man with short hair got out of the van and ran into the victim’s garage.

The victim told police that the suspect took several things from the glove box of his Cadillac before moving to the Jeep. The Jeep’s keys were left inside the car, so the alleged suspect drove off in the stolen car.

Police say the Jeep has since been recovered, but no arrests have been made.
