Two of Oklahoma’s fairs rank among America’s best
OKLAHOMA CITY – As the summer season winds down, Oklahomans will head to the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds to enjoy one last family event before fall.
Researchers compared fairs based on attendance rates, adults admission prices, length of state fairs and daily precipitation averages for the time of the fair.
Some state fairs, like the State Fair of Texas, did not make it into the study because fair organizers did not record some of the needed information.
SmartAsset’s list of the ‘Best State Fairs in America’ is as follows:
- North Dakota State Fair
- Arizona State Fair
- Delaware State Fair
- Washington State Fair
- Tulsa State Fair
- Iowa State Fair
- Oklahoma State Fair
- Alaska State Fair
- New Mexico State Fair
- Nebraska State Fair.
Two Oklahoma fairs made the ‘top 10’ list.
The Tulsa State Fair actually edged out the Oklahoma State Fair because of events like the Corndog Classic 5K Run/Walk.
However, organizers say the Oklahoma State Fair has something for everyone due to its wide range of concerts, competitions and carnival rides.
The Oklahoma State Fair will be held Sept. 15 through Sept. 25.
