OKLAHOMA CITY-- Police say a man exposed himself to children in a Northwest Oklahoma City neighborhood near Council and 122nd.
"I don't let my grandkids play out front at all. They all have to play in the backyard," Lisa Macias, who knows the children, said. "People are crazy these days you know?”
Parents are on edge after police say two seven-year-old and two 10-year-old girls had a terrifying encounter with Alberto Ruiz, 38.
"I'm sure it's going to mess with them for a long time." Macias said.
According to a court document the girls were walking next to their bikes when they noticed Ruiz “driving slowly behind them”.
They claim he got out of his car “then exposed his penis” and said “have you seen one of these before?
Next, the girls said “he began urinating into his vehicle”.
The girls ran and a woman and her husband stopped to help.
"I asked the girls was he trying to get you, and they said yes.”
The neighbor did not want to be identified for safety reasons, but told News Channel 4 what happened next.
"We went on a chase for about 15-20 minutes through the neighborhoods just trying to keep up with him. We had his license plate. I had 911 on the phone. I mean it was just really a scary event,” she said.
She said they lost the suspect, but police eventually caught up with him and arrested him.
"Had we not been there at that time. I mean who knows what he could have done to those girls," the woman said. "I truly believe he was going to take them.”
Ruiz is out of jail on a $2,000 dollar bond.
News Channel 4 reached out to him Wednesday, but our call was not immediately returned.
