OKLAHOMA CITY - It's no secret that Oklahomans love the Oklahoma City Thunder and its players.

Everywhere you look around town, you can likely find something that pays homage to the team.

However, one popular tribute is now up in the air.

“The ‘Hot KD.’ We started this four years ago and it was one of our best items that we had ever come up with a really great name that would befit it,” said Chis Lower, co-owner of Big Truck Tacos.

The hot wing and blue cheese crema taco special became so popular that it is now featured every Tuesday.

On Monday, Kevin Durant announced that he was leaving the city and the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors.

"It kind of surprised us on Tuesday. It was like, 'whoop, what do I do?" Lower said. "A lot of people came in and ordered it but they were also asking us what we were going to call it in the future."

So just like Durant trading in his jersey, Big Truck Tacos is trading in his taco. The business is changing the name through a Facebook contest.

"We've had some fans that have had some very constructive ideas and we've had some fans that were a little snarky,” Lower said.

Some obvious choices like “Rumbler” and “Thunder Bolt” were pitched, compared to ones that burn like the "Benedict Arnold" and "The Sellout."

"Seattle's Revenge...The Turncoat...Durexit...The Traitor Taco," Lower said. "There were a few nicer ones... Well, the nicer ones are harder to find."

So we asked too.

"What would I name the Hot KD? I don't know. I'd like to give some credit to Russell Westbrook. 'Russ's special.' I don't know,” Evan Walters said.

"Maybe the 'Rumble Taco.' Maybe just the 'Thunder Up Taco.' Something that incorporates the whole team instead of just one person,” Chris Crowder said.

It will be narrowed down to five names and the owner says keeping it the same will be an option.

"It could be an homage because obviously we're going to miss him and he was a big part of building the team to where it is right now," Lower said.

The winner of the rename contest will win a $25 gift card to the restaurant.
