OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA -- She makes her home outside St. Louis, Missouri, but during the summer months Kari Lewis brings her house and barn with her on trips.

Kari walks to a horse stall in one of the big barns at the State Fair complex.

"Is he expecting you," asks a visitor about the horse she's retrieving?

"Yeah," smiles Kari.

She's not alone either.

The stalls at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds are full of fancy homes away from home for this year's Youth National Arabian and Half-Arabian Championship Horse Show.

This is a big event for the whole Lewis family, and their newest member.

His name is Hollywood Playboy.

Kari and he are true partners.

"How often are you on this guy," asks her visitor?

"About every day," she responds.

Every kid competing here has long since fallen in love with horses, and then convinced their parents to buy in too.

Kari's parents already had a horse business, but a couple of years ago now Kari saw one horse that doubled down on her Christmas wish list.

She was just entering a new phase of her young riding career, changing disciplines to Reigning and Horsemanship.

Playboy, already 3 years her senior, was a past world champion, and priced accordingly.

But on Christmas morning, 2014, he came rolling up in a trailer and it was love at first sight.

"He was a surprise," says Kari. "I was so excited."

They see each other every day now.

They train and compete together.

They travel together.

They share a special bond.

Of Arabian horses, and Playboy, Kari says, "I think it's just that they're very athletic and they are the sweetest breed of horse that I've ever been around. They have so much personality."

In the front of the State Fair Arena horse show organizers keep a whole room full of trophies and ribbons for the winners of the Youth Arabian Show.

Kari dreams of winning one this week.

Her big dreams continue with a partner who is truly a wish come true.
