Experts: Summertime screen time can lead to negative health effects for kids

OKLAHOMA CITY – It is summertime, which means that many children are stuck in front of a television or computer while they are out of the classroom.

Experts say that extra screen time can have a negative effect on your child’s health.

If they are stuck in front of a screen, they are not out playing or exercising- which is obvious.

However, advertising may also play a role in what they are doing or eating. The more television they watch, the more likely they are to see advertisements for fast-food restaurants and surgary items, like soda, candy and snacks.
