Reports: Oklahoma homeowner killed in house explosion near Tahlequah

TAHLEQUAH, Okla.-  Local, state and federal authorities are at the scene of a suspected home explosion near Tahlequah in northeastern Oklahoma.

The Tahlequah Daily Press reports the explosion was reported shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday just east of Tahlequah.

Emergency management officials did not immediately return a phone call seeking additional comment.

According to FOX 23, the homeowner was killed in the blast.

Tahlequah firefighters, Cherokee County emergency management officials and sheriff’s deputies, the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the state Fire Marshal’s office are investigating the blast.
