NORMAN, Okla. - In less than 40 days, Sooner fans will get their first up-close look at changes to the Gaylord Family- Oklahoma Memorial Stadium for the start of football season.
Construction crews have been working to enclose the southern portion of the stadium in time for next season.
In addition to expanded seating, the upgrades will include more bathrooms and more concession stands.
This will be the first time the stadium has had a major improvement since the early 2000's, but university officials said small upgrades have been done periodically since the stadium was built in the 1920's.
OU's first home game is set for Saturday, Sept. 10 against ULM.
