CHICKASHA, Okla. - A Chickasha police officer is getting praise after he was seen helping a man in a wheelchair.
The Chickasha Police Department shared a social media post from a woman describing the good deed.
Officer Preston Hodge was on patrol when he noticed a man in a wheelchair struggling to make it up a hill.
At that point, he turned his car around and stopped to help the man.
It's a small gesture of kindness that reaches farther than Chickasha city limits.
"It's about community, that's what we're here for is make somebody's day a little bit brighter. And by making somebody's day, it makes our day a little bit better too. It's a good way to give and return in the same instance," Hodge told KFOR.
Officer Hodge said he would like to say thank you to the woman who saw the act of kindness and was nice enough to recognize the good deed.
