CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Bank robbers usually do everything they can to avoid being caught by police.

However, one woman in Wyoming said she wanted to go back to prison.

In June, 59-year-old Linda Thompson was released from a correctional facility in Oregon after being convicted of second-degree robbery.

After being released, she went to Wyoming but did not find a way to get back on her feet.

Instead, she was homeless and resorted to staying in a park.

Last weekend, she suffered facial fractures after strangers beat her in the park.

According to KGWN, she couldn’t get a room at a homeless shelter so she felt the safest option would be going back to prison.

Court documents allege that Thompson went in to a bank and demanded money.

Thompson walked out with $16,300 and immediately began giving it away to people on the street while she waited for police.
