Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig has been demoted to the minors to the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

Puig has been hampered by a nagging hamstring over the past couple of seasons. He’s hitting just .260 in his last 81 games with just seven home runs and 34 runs batted in.

The Cuban native was told on Monday he would either be traded by the organization or demoted to the minor leagues if the team couldn’t move him.

Puig is in the middle of a seven year deal worth 20 million dollars and doesn’t have enough major league service to block a demotion to the minor leagues.

This isn’t the only move by the Dodgers today. It was announced  that pitcher Derek Holland will have a rehab assignment in OKC on Friday.
