BLANCHARD, Okla. – City leaders in Blanchard say drastic measures are necessary because of a water shortage.

Officials say several areas around Blanchard are experiencing low to no water because of high water usage in other areas.

As a result, city officials have banned all outdoor watering.

Residents will not be able to use their sprinklers, wash their cars or fill their swimming pools as a result.

Also, the Blanchard splash pad will be closed immediately for the duration of the summer or until the water issue is over.
