U.S. women’s swim team takes gold in the 4x200m freestyle relay

RIO– Team USA earned another gold medal Thursday night when the women’s swim team won the 4x200m freestyle relay.

Allison Schmitt, Leah Smith, Maya DiRado, and Katie Ledecky completed the relay in 7 minutes and 43 seconds.

Ledecky has now earned 3 gold medals and one silver medal in Rio.

The U.S. women have traditionally dominated this event, taking gold in 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2012. They took the silver medal in 2008.
