NORMAN, Okla. – Officials say a 30-year-old man drowned at Lake Thunderbird this week.

On Aug. 9, officials say Michael David Dixon was swimming back to shore from a marker buoy when he started to drown.

Witnesses looked in the area for Dixon, but were not able to locate him.

His body was recovered and taken to the medical examiner’s office.

The medical examiner will determine what caused Dixon to drown.
