OSBI investigating officer-involved fatality in Tahlequah

TAHLEQUAH, Okla.– Tahlequah Police Department responded to a residence after receiving a call reporting a disturbance.

When officers arrived at the scene they found Dominic Rollice, who was refusing to leave the area.

When approached by officers the 49-year-old picked up a hammer.

Rollice was told by police several times to put down the hammer.

He refused, instead lunging at officers, two of which discharged their weapons.

Rollice was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Tahlequah police requested OSBI special agents come in to investigate the fatality shooting.

Agents worked through the night to gather information and evidence. Once the case has been thoroughly investigated, it will be turned over to the district attorney who will determine if the shooting was justified.
