Officials: Juvenile confesses to murder, leads authorities to stepmother’s body

VINITA, Okla. – Authorities received quite a shock on Monday morning after a boy went to the police department to confess to a violent crime.

According to KJRH, a juvenile went to the Vinita Police Department early Monday morning and told officers that he killed his stepmother.

When officers went to the boy’s home, they found the body of 38-year-old Laura Beth Hendrix.

At this point, Hendricks’ cause and manner of death is still under investigation.

The 14-year-old boy has been arrested and was booked into the Craig County Jail.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is collecting evidence to help with the investigation.
