CAUGHT ON CAMERA: 2 students hit by 2 trucks in 2 days moments after stepping off their school buses

AUSTIN, Texas - In case drivers need another reminder to slow down when school buses are present, here it is.

Two students, both boys, are recovering after being hit by two separate trucks just moments after stepping off of their school buses.

Both buses have surveillance video that is chilling to Amy McFadden, whose 12-year-old son was hit by a truck while he was in the crosswalk.

"There's nothing worse than that phone call where all you can hear are sirens and a child crying," McFadden said. "I kept shaking because it's the most horrible thing to watch."

In the second case, a teenage boy was hit by a car coming from the opposite direction.

In that case, a witness says the driver was a 16-year-old girl who was unaware that drivers from the opposite direction must also stop when the school bus has its stop sign displayed.

The drivers of both pickup trucks stopped and were cited by police.
