THOMAS, Okla. – A rival team from a nearby community is hoping to honor the life of a 6-year-old Oklahoma girl who recently died following a tragic accident.

Draylee Fite was reportedly riding in a UTV on the South Canadian River on Sunday with her parents when they hit a log hidden in the water.

he log punctured the rear driver’s side floorboard and hit Draylee in head as she was lying on the floorboard.

She later died from her injuries.

“Draylee was fun, she had all kinds of friends, made friends very easily,” Thomas-Fay-Custer Elementary principal Leesa Brandly said. “She loved and loved harder than anybody I can imagine.”

The Alva Goldbugs will host the Thomas Terriers on Friday night, but everyone will be in mourning.

Alva has asked its fans to wear pink and purple in honor of little Draylee and also will be donating all proceeds from the Friday night dinner to the Fite family.
