Owner searching for dog after pet, truck stolen in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY – A truck with a dog inside were stolen in Oklahoma City.

The owner, Robert Bradford, told police it reportedly happened around 3 p.m. Monday at the Animal Hospital in the 6700 block of S. Western Ave.

Bradford said he left the tan, mix lab in the red Chevrolet with the tinted windows down and the engine off as he quickly went into the hospital.

While there, he looked outside, saw the truck pulling out of the parking spot and realized it was being stolen.

Bradford said he ran and jumped into the bed of the truck as the driver began to back up, hitting into a maroon Ford Mustang also in the parking lot.

The driver proceeded to drive over some curbs, causing Bradford to be thrown off the bed of the truck.

Witnesses told police they reportedly last saw the truck near S.W. 70th and S. Western then later in the 4800 block of S. Blackwelder Ave.

Witnesses also said, earlier, they saw the driver, a young male, ride up to the hospital on a bicycle.

The bicycle was being booked in as evidence when someone approached police and claimed it was their child’s, stolen that morning in the 1200 block of S.W. 7th St.

Bradford said, in addition to the dog, his keys were also in the truck.
