Oklahoma man accused of stabbing another man to death found hiding in field

OWASSO, Okla. – An Oklahoma man who is accused of stabbing another man to death inside an Owasso home was found hiding in a field.

Around 12:45 a.m. Thursday, Owasso police officers were called to reports of a disturbance/altercation in the 11300 block of N. 112th E. Ave., the police department stated on Facebook.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead.  He appeared to have been stabbed to death.

Witnesses told police officers that the suspect ran away shortly after the stabbing.

Officers started searching the area and found the suspect in a nearby field.

He was taken into custody without incident, police say.

According to KJRH, police identified the suspect as 60-year-old David Wayne Ellis.

It is unclear what led up to the stabbing.

Police have not identified the victim at this time.

This is Owasso’s first homicide of 2016, KJRH reports.
