Oklahoma man facing burglary charges for crime near Cordell

WASHITA COUNTY, Okla. – Authorities say a man is in custody after an owner noticed some people trespassing onto his property.

On Aug. 29, the Washita County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary just west of Cordell.

That same night, the victim found people trespassing onto his property and called deputies.

On Sept. 1, a warrant was issued for 38-year-old Johnny Wayne Hunter after he was identified as a suspect in the case by investigators.

Hunter was arrested in Canadian County on charges of second-degree burglary and grand larceny.

Hunter has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
