SEASIDE PARK, N.J.– Sources say that three pipe bombs were left in a garbage can at the Seaside Park Semper Five 5K Charity Run. Only one bomb detonated and has put the community on lock down.

Authorities are searching the area for more explosives and are asking people to stay in their home and away from the race area. Nearby roads have been temporarily closed.

There were initial reports of a suspicious backpack and as a precaution the race was cancelled.

No one has been injured and no structures have been damaged, according to Ocean County Prosecutor’s Spokesman Al Della Fave.

Della Fave added that New Jersey State Police are investigating a second device that has been found on the scene.
