MIDWEST CITY, Okla.—Police are searching for a man in connection to an early Saturday morning homicide.
Around 7:45 a.m. an African American male walked into the GI’s Market at 10001 NE 10th Street.
The suspect is described as being in his late teens or early twenties with dreadlocks and dressed in black pants and a dark hooded jacket.
The suspect loitered inside the store for a while before withdrawing a semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine, and demanding money.
The store clerk, Salman Tahir, 33, of Oklahoma City cooperated with the suspect.
The suspect took money from the cash register before shooting video monitor. He then shot Tahir in the back. The suspect is last seen walking south from the business.
The victim was discovered by a customer a brief time later and transported to an Oklahoma City hospital where he died from his injuries.
“It is horrific, senseless and tragic when a person can lose their life over an insignificant amount of money—especially when the victim is cooperative,” Chief Brandon Clabes said. “We hope someone recognizes this killer quickly and does the right and moral thing by contacting law enforcement with his identity,” Clabes added.
The Midwest City Police Department is providing still shots of the suspects for immediate release. Should someone recognize the suspect contact Midwest City Police.
