While a lot of talented singers took the stage to earn their spot on NBC’s ‘The Voice,’ one singer surprised even the coaches.

Billy Gilman, who was 12 when he released his first single, took the stage with a new sound.

Gilman sang a cover of Adele’s ‘When We Were Young,’ which caused all the judges to turn their chairs.

Immediately, some of coaches recognized the former country phenom whose single “One Voice” jumped into the Top 20 on the Billboard county music charts.

You can see Gilman’s full performance and see which coach he chooses on Tuesday night’s episode of ‘The Voice.’
