Police: Norman woman assaulted after allegedly finding knife-wielding suspect hiding in her closet

NORMAN, Okla. – Authorities in Norman are trying to identify a man who is linked to an assault that occurred last month.

On Aug. 23, a woman told police that she left her home unlocked for about five minutes while she grabbed laundry from a nearby laundromat.

When she got back inside, she claims a strange man with a knife was hiding in her closet.

Officers say the alleged suspect held the woman against her will and physically assaulted her for several minutes before he left.

The attack occurred in the 1700 block of W. Robinson St. in Norman.


The man is described as a 20-year-old white man, standing 5’9″ tall ¬†with light brown or blonde hair, which is in a bowl-style cut. He was described as slightly overweight. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a yellow t-shirt with the video game character ‘Yoshi’ on it with cargo shorts or pants.
