OKLAHOMA CITY – A man is in custody following a brutal attack that left a man in a medically induced coma.

On Sept. 5, authorities allege that 37-year-old Allen Parks got into a fight with Albert Burris over a $20 debt.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Parks hit Burris in the head several times until he fell to the ground.

“As [Parks] was walking off, he kicked [Burris] on the head. A witness stated [Burris] did not fight back during the altercation and appeared to be unconscious after the assault,” the affidavit claims.

Officials say the victim was rushed to the hospital with multiple facial and head fractures, along with bleeding on the brain. He was then placed in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator.

Parks is facing a charge of assault and battery by means of force likely to produce death.
