BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – A pair of football players in Massachusetts couldn’t stand by when they found out a feline was in trouble.

George Lampros and Max Sergio heard the cat’s cries coming from a sewer drain as they were getting ready for a football game.

The two immediately got to work, borrowing tools from a construction crew to scoop the cat to safety.

Afterward, they upset another team that hadn’t lost a game in three years.

“Maybe that was karma for the game that night, I don’t know. We’ll take any advantage we can get,” said Dan Buran, the Bridgewater-Raynham coach.
