OKLAHOMA CITY – Every month, NewsChannel 4 profiles children who are bravely batting a cancer diagnosis.

On Wednesday, kids at the Jimmy Everest Center, along with their doctors and nurses, were awarded an engraved gold medal.

It’s a symbol of the victories achieved each day.

Along with the special ceremony, the children were also treated to a bubble station, a coloring station and even a temporary tattoo if they wanted one.

In the past year, more than 100 children were diagnosed with cancer at Children’s Hospital.

We are honored to bring you their stories of courage at NewsChannel 4 at 5 p.m.
