LOS ANGELES – Brad Pitt is reportedly under investigation for child abuse.

TMZ reports the Los Angeles Police Department and the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services is investigating the actor for allegedly getting verbally abusive and physical with his children, which is what triggered the divorce.

Sources told TMZ an incident that took place last Wednesday on a private jet in which Pitt allegedly “got wasted and went wild,” screaming and getting physical with the kids.

Witnesses say he continued his rants on the tarmac, and tried leaving in one of the fuel trucks.

The incident was reported to the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, who interviewed Pitt and Jolie as part of their ongoing investigation.

The L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services plans to interview the children as well, TMZ reports.

Jolie filed for divorce days later and is seeking sole custody of their six children.

A source close to Pitt told TMZ:

“He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children. It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”
