OKLAHOMA CITY – Fall is officially here, even though it doesn’t quite feel like it yet.

While the weather may be a little rainy this weekend, now is the perfect time of the year to visit an Oklahoma state park.

This is the final weekend of the Oklahoma State Fair.

And how about a day out with Thomas the Train? Kids love this event at the Oklahoma Railway Museum. Guests have a chance to take a 25 minute ride and have a chance to meet Sir Topham Hat.

There will also be storytelling, a magician, two moon walks and other activities. Tickets range from $16 to $18 and you can make reservations.

If you’re looking for something free, the Oklahoma Wildlife Expo is being held at the Lazy E Arena. It features hands-on interactive exhibits and kids can try kayaking, test out mountain bikes and even fish. The event is going on Saturday and Sunday.

Another free event is “Take a Child Outside” Day at Martin Park Nature Center on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This event features hiking, a scavenger hunt, outdoor family games, safety lessons and crafts.

‘Discover Oklahoma’ airs on Saturday at 6:30 p.m., right after our evening newscast.
